Park at the Gorman Lake
trailhead, 892877 and follow a well-defined trail to Gorman Lake,
described in Golden
Hikes.
Hike around the lake, the south shore is quickest and continue into the
draw. Head in a south-west direction, veering left to gain the col
between Eos Peak and Dawn Mountain, 862973. Drop down and hike
towards Dawn Mountain's north ridge. A rockband guards the ridge, we
ascended climber's right of the rock bluffs. A cornice may need to be
negociated. Once on the ridge, it is a pleasant walk to the broad
summit.

| Scramble: The ascent to
Dawn
was quick and easy from our bivi site. We climbed the snow slope to a
point where the cornice was surmountable. We barely noticed the cairn
at the top, almost totally buried. |
