Mount Andromache
from the campground. |
| Scramble: We stayed
at the Mosquito campground. Short
approach,
the ascent to the ridge is enjoyable but longer and looser than I
expected. The weather was less than perfect, zero visibility and snow
squalls higher up; we almost walked right pass the summit cairn! The
summit stay was short, it was somewhat cold. We decided not to attempt
the higher unmarked peak Kane mentions. Instead we warmed up coming
down the blocky terrain near the top. About halfway down the shoulder,
the sun
started peeking through the clouds. That was bitter sweet; the sun felt
so nice, but the timing... It would have been nice to see
something up there, be comfortable and even perhaps continue to the
unmarked peak but we can't have it all. It was still an amazing trip! |
